English Proficiency Standards for the Ph.D. Program
一、適用對象 Applicability
本標準適用對象為本院博士班學生，包含本國生及外國學生。
These standards apply to all Ph.D. students of the College, including both domestic and international students.
二、通過標準 Required English Proficiency
本院博士班研究生在申請博士學位考試之前，必須取得下列任一種之英語能力證明：
Before applying for the Ph.D. degree examination, students must provide proof of English proficiency by meeting one of the following criteria:

| 托福 TOEFL iBT | 79分(含)以上 Score of 79 or above |
| 托福 TOEFL CBT | 213分(含)以上 Score of 213 or above |
| 托福 TOEFL PBT | 550分(含)以上 Score of 550 or above |
| 雅思 IELTS | 6.5分(含)以上 Score of 6.5 or above |
| 全民英檢 GEPT | 中高級(含)以上 High-Intermediate level or above |
| 多益 TOEIC | 750分(含)以上 Score of 750 or above |
| 修習本校英文課程 Completion of English courses at NTHU |
科號3字頭以上(含)相關課程達3學分以上，且成績達B以上 At least 3 credits of courses with codes starting with “3” or above, with a grade of B or above |
| 取得英語系國家學位 (註1) Degree obtained in an English-speaking country (Note 1) |
學士(含)以上 Bachelor’s degree or higher |
| CEFR 語言能力參考指標 (註2) CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) (Note 2) |
B2(含)等級以上 B2 level or above |
註Note 1：
英語系國家為菲律賓、紐西蘭、澳洲等；印度非屬本要點所列之英語系國家。
English-speaking countries recognized by the College include the Philippines, New Zealand, and Australia. India is not considered an English-speaking country under these guidelines.

註Note 2:
若學生應試之英檢成績未列於本表 CEFR 檢測類別時，須經本院審議通過後方可認證。
If a student submits a test result not listed in the CEFR mapping table above, the result must be reviewed and approved by the College to be recognized.
三、證明取得效期 Validity Period
英文能力證明取得之效期，為博士學位考試前五年內有效，於學位考試申請時進行認定。
English proficiency certification must have been obtained within five years prior to the Ph.D. degree examination and will be verified during the application process for the degree examination.
